Rick Allen debuts Rock-On-Canvas, a collection of artwork created through rhythm. The second chapter in Allen's journey of creating visual art, Rock-On-Canvas is a collection that focuses on some of Rick's favorite rhythms to create the work.
"When I'm in the creative process, I never know what I’m going to get, and this time I was really amazed to see the synergy between the art and the music.
I played the rhythms, captured the images, and then worked on color and contrast. The names of the pieces came to me right away since the imagery was so strong. I didn’t know which songs belonged to each piece. I just dove right into creating the art. Afterward, I looked back and was surprised to find such synergy between the art and the music. It was like a mirror image.
The rhythm of the song Animal actually created the animal image in the art pieces that I named "Animal." The imagery in "Women in Flight" was created when playing the song Women. Completely unscripted… It’s fantastic.
Just a few of the magical elements hidden within this collection. Look for yourself and tell me what you see."
